USGI M67 Baseball Grenade

US Genuine Issue M67 Baseball Grenade. Cast iron body with USGI fuse. The M67 fragmentation grenade is the standard-issue hand grenade for the United States military. It is widely known as the "baseball grenade" because its spherical shape and size were intentionally designed to feel familiar to American soldiers who grew up playing baseball, theoretically making it easier to throw with accuracy.

The body is grooved with 40 raised segments, providing a secure grip in combat and producing improved fragmentation (shrapnel) upon detonation.

The M-67 used a, "pin-and-lever" or "spoon" system—once the pin was pulled, the lever (spoon) released, initiating a 4–5 second delay before detonation.
