- Ripstop Material: Constructed from a durable 50/50 Nylon/Cotton (NYCO) ripstop fabric that resists tearing while remaining lightweight and breathable. (Later OCP versions may use slight variations, but 50/50 NYCO is the standard for the temperate series.)
- Concealed Map Pocket: Features a two-piece inner crown lining that creates a small internal pocket, designed for storing maps, documents, or small items.
- Operational Security (NIR Compliant): Treated with Near Infrared (NIR) technology to minimize the wearer's infrared signature, reducing visibility under night-vision devices.
- Fold-Down Ear Flaps: Includes integrated ear flaps (also called neck flaps) that tuck neatly inside the crown when not in use, providing additional protection in cooler or windy conditions.
- Sun Protection: Equipped with a wide, reinforced visor with a stiffener to shield the eyes and face from sunlight and glare.
- Water Repellency: Treated with Quarpel finish for water and stain repellency while preserving breathability and comfort.
- Name Tape Attachment: Features a hook-and-loop (Velcro) strip on the rear band for secure attachment of name tapes or other identifiers.
- Rank Placement: The flat front panel is designed for centered placement of subdued pin-on or sew-on rank/branch insignia.
