USGI Mk 2 Pineapple Grenade

US Genuine Issue Mk 2 Grenade. The cast iron body with USGI fuse. Introduced in WW1, the original designed grenade progressed through evolutions to serve in WW2, Korea, and beyond to retirement in 1969. A very deadly grenade due to its girth and castellated body which reminded GIs of a Pineapple. No striker assembly.

The body is grooved with 40 raised segments, providing a secure grip in combat and producing improved fragmentation (shrapnel) upon detonation.

The Mk 2 used a, "pin-and-lever" or "spoon" system—once the pin was pulled, the lever (spoon) released, initiating a 4–5 second delay before detonation.

Includes pull ring assembly, fuse assembly, and body.  Year model may vary. Inert.
