  • XX-Large: 8415-01-137-1707

Features

  • Two-Piece Construction: The set consists of a hooded jacket and high-waisted trousers. It is intentionally oversized to fit comfortably over a standard Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) and field gear.
  • Activated Charcoal Liner: The interior is lined with a thick, bonded layer of activated charcoal.
  • Function: This liner absorbs chemical agents in vapor form before they can reach the skin.
  • Side Effect: It is notorious for leaving black "charcoal dust" on the wearer's skin and under-uniform, especially when the suit is new.
  • Protection Levels (MOPP): It is the primary component of MOPP (Mission Oriented Protective Posture) levels 1 through 4. When combined with a mask, gloves, and boots, it provides a complete barrier against nerve, blister, and blood agents.
  • Jacket: Features a full-length zipper protected by a wide Velcro/snap storm flap. It has an integrated hood with an elastic face opening designed to seal around an M40 or MCU-2/P gas mask.
  • Trousers: Equipped with built-in adjustable suspenders, a zippered fly with a protective flap, and large cargo pockets on the thighs.
  • Closures: Elasticized cuffs on the wrists and ankles, along with drawstring or Velcro cinch tabs, ensure a tight seal against contaminants.
  • Outer Shell: Made of a rugged 50/50 nylon/cotton twill (NYCO) treated with a water-repellent finish.
  • Environment: While it provides excellent wind resistance and some warmth, it is very heavy and traps body heat, making it extremely taxing to wear in hot weather environments.
  • Service Life: The suit is typically vacuum-sealed in a thick plastic bag. Once opened, its "protective life" begins to countdown (usually 30 days in a contaminated environment or roughly 14–45 days of general wear).
